Content Marketing and Search Engine Optimisation Executive
Salary: £25-30,000 per annum - subject to experience
Reports to: Head of Marketing and Membership Communications
MAIN PURPOSES OF THIS JOB
Content Marketing and SEO Executive will assist in the implementation of the BIA’s marketing strategy by delivering engaging content across digital communication channels to attract new and engage existing audiences.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Membership Communications, the post holder will support creation, curation and repurposing of the brand, sector and member-specific content and monitor its effectiveness to gain audience insight and help BIA maximise its reach and impact.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a new role which will report to the Head of Marketing and Membership Communications.
- Support development and implementation of the content marketing plan as part of the BIA’s marketing strategy Author engaging content for the BIA websites and digital channels, monitoring consistency of brand tone of voice and style guidelines Using SEO knowledge, ensure content is optimised for search and in line with the key audiences’ interests/topics to deepen rankings and BIA’s digital footprint Maximise outreach by promoting content on social media channels, utilising the trends and developments that support increased engagement in online content Manage Google Analytics and content management system, monitoring online performance and KPIs Analyse website performance (rankings, traffic and on-page engagement) to identify opportunities to improve online user journeys and improve website engagement
- Identify media opportunities and draft news articles, statements and press releases that appeal to national and regional media to ensure the best possible distribution opportunities
- Develop media lists, create coverage reports (social, online and print) and build relationships with key editors, journalists, content contributors/collaborators
- Collate sector and member news for dissemination through BIA channels (via Marketing team) and feed into the Content team where appropriate. Where required assist and collaborate with the marketing and content teams to deliver cross-channel, integrated campaigns, in line with the marketing strategy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- A confident self-starter with an ability to grasp complex issues quickly and how to distil these for a variety of external audiences Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders Attention to detail and ‘can do’ attitude Great copywriting and experience of web content management systems (CMS) Degree or equivalent
Desirable
- Previous experience of SEO and Google Analytics Previous academic or work experience in life sciences or healthcare Experience of working with journalists across print, broadcast and online media to deliver impactful media coverage
